I have tested this diffuser several times.......the instructions recommend adding water only to the purple marker, add 3-5 pure essential oil, and then plug the diffuser into a 2amp power adapter (like a fast-charge cell phone charger, which is how I tested it), turn ON/Off button on......it took just shy of 3 hrs to fully charge (charging status indicator light turns from red to green when fully charged). Run time is approximately 3 hrs. I did NOT test car adapter. PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS fully!!!
